CONTINUE TO ADVOCATE FOR DISTANCE EDUCATION
Online education is the future of education. With the pandemic speeding up the transition, it has become an option for us much sooner than anyone would’ve anticipated. It is flexible to students and reduces cost of education for our students and the district.
PROMOTE DUAL ENROLLMENT AND MIDDLE COLLEGE
Dual enrollment allows high school students to take college courses while still in high school. Middle college program allows students to complete two years of college courses by the time they finish high school. Both programs save time and money for students while improving their success rate. Furthermore, it saves taxpayer’s money since it costs the state much less for students to take the same courses in a community college vs a 4-year college.
OFFER FREE DIGITAL TEXTBOOKS FOR MORE COURSES
For most community college students, textbook costs are a larger concern than tuition fees. By making more textbooks for our courses free, it reduces our students’ financial burden, makes them more available, and helps to close equity gaps.
I am a good listener, and I would love to hear your voice. I believe that community college is built to serve our community. If we work together, we can make a better community college system and help our students prepare for the ever-changing job market. Please contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
